Mehndi & Nail Art Camps Empower Women Entrepreneurs-Shashi Garden Center

Dates: 19th–20th October 2024 | Locations: Shashi Garden Center, District Naharghad Center, and Dilshad Garden

In celebration of Karva Chauth, a festival deeply rooted in tradition and womanhood, Samarth Bharat, in collaboration with Worko India, organized a series of vibrant and impactful Mehndi and Nail Art Camps at three major training centers: Shashi Garden, Naharghad District, and Dilshad Garden.

These camps were not just festive events—they were designed as real-world entrepreneurial platforms for trainees from Samarth Bharat’s vocational programs to showcase their skills, interact with live clients, and earn independently.

A Festival of Opportunity and Empowerment

Over the two-day celebration, a total of 65 skilled trainees participated in the camps, offering professional mehndi designs and intricate nail art services to women celebrating the Karva Chauth festival. The initiative was met with an overwhelming response from the local community, with many women queuing up to support and enjoy the services of these emerging artists.

The Results were Truly Inspiring:

  • Total collective earnings: ₹1.9 lakh
  • Average earnings per trainee: Approx. ₹2,900 over two days
  • Significant increase in self-confidence, customer handling, and real-time business experience for the participants

For many trainees, this marked their first direct income from the skills they had learned, turning their training into livelihood—right in the middle of a culturally meaningful celebration.

Highlights and Impact

  • The camps provided a safe, structured space where students could work professionally and gain hands-on market exposure.
  • Customers expressed appreciation for the high quality of service, with many returning with friends or recommending the services further.
  • The initiative reinforced the link between culture and commerce, proving that festivals can serve as powerful platforms for grassroots women entrepreneurship.

This program exemplifies Samarth Bharat’s vision—to empower women not only with vocational skills but also with real earning opportunities, helping them become financially independent contributors to their families and society.
