Dates: 25 March 2022 and 31 March 2022
As part of its holistic approach to skill development, Samarth Bharat not only provides vocational training but also organizes awareness sessions on important health and social issues during the training period. Experts and volunteers are regularly invited to conduct these sessions and interact with the trainees.
In this ongoing effort, Youth for Seva (YFS)—a nationwide volunteer-based social organization—conducted menstrual hygiene awareness sessions at two Samarth Bharat training centres. The sessions were held on 25th March 2022 at the Manoranjan Centre, Karkardooma, and on 31st March 2022 at the Raghuvir Nagar Training Centre.
The sessions focused on educating young girls about the physical and emotional changes that occur with age, common health concerns related to menstrual hygiene, and practical ways to prevent infections and maintain good health. The volunteers from YFS spoke to the trainees in a friendly and sensitive manner, creating a safe and open space for discussion.
Trainees actively participated in these sessions, asked questions, and received clear and helpful answers from the YFS volunteers. These awareness classes were not only informative but also empowered the participants with knowledge that is often overlooked in formal education.
Such initiatives reflect Samarth Bharat’s commitment to overall personality and health development of its trainees, preparing them not only for employment but also for a confident, informed, and healthy life.
