In pursuit of nurturing innovation and entrepreneurial spirit, the Udhmodya Committee of
Shivaji College organized the Seed Fund Accelerator Pitching Competition on September
24, 2025, at the college premises in Raja Garden, New Delhi. The event provided a vibrant
platform for budding entrepreneurs to showcase their early-stage startups, with the aim of
turning their innovative ideas into reality through expert mentorship and essential financial
support.

The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from young innovators, whose passion and creativity created an atmosphere of dynamism and collaboration. The presence of esteemed dignitaries added immense value to the program. The college had the privilege of hosting Mr. Praveen Kapoor, a seasoned professional with over 32 years of experience in Business Growth, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation, who has mentored more than 100 incubators and facilitated over 350 corporate collaborations across India. The second guest of honor, Prof. Ravinder Kaur, MoE Innovation Ambassador, Mentor at T-Hub Hyderabad, and Executive Innovation Officer at Udhmodya Foundation, brought with her rich experience
of guiding startups to scale impactful ventures. The third distinguished guest was Mr. Shonal Gupta, a Learning and Skill Development professional with more than 30 years of experience across corporate, government, and social organizations, and currently the Project Head of Samarth Bharat, where he is empowering youth through re-skilling, innovation, and entrepreneurship initiatives.
The felicitation of dignitaries was gracefully conducted by Prof. Virendra Bhardwaj, Principal of Shivaji College, and Prof. Suman Kharbanda, Coordinator of the Incubation Centre, with bouquets presented by the Karitri Project of Enactus Shivaji. The event also acknowledged the continuous guidance and mentorship of Dr. Chhavi Sharma, Convenor of Udhmodya, whose vision and support remain the backbone of every milestone achieved by the Committee.

The core highlight of the day was the startup pitching round, where student teams presented their business models to the panel of judges. Each pitch reflected rigorous research, creativity, and problem-solving potential. After thoughtful deliberation, the winning venture was declared—Up Upasti, which secured seed funding of ₹25,000 to advance their entrepreneurial journey. Alongside, two promising startups, Capilo and Green Energy Ko, were extended valuable support in the form of mentorship, access to labs, and other resources, ensuring that their innovative ideas continue to grow and make impact.
The competition reinforced the belief that in entrepreneurship, there are no losses, only learning opportunities. The judges inspired participants to see this platform as the beginning of many more chances to refine and scale their ideas. The event concluded with palpable excitement and motivation among students, as they left with not only encouragement but also a stronger resolve to pursue their entrepreneurial ambitions.
By providing students with such platforms, the Udhmodya Committee once again reaffirmed its mission of cultivating entrepreneurial confidence, resilience, and innovation-driven thinking, truly transforming dreams into ventures and passion into purpose.
